Pasta DAN-bonara

Did you know our Sichuan Spicy Dan Dan Sauce is not just good on asian noodles, but also fantastic for making spicy, Asian inspired pasta dishes with bold Sichuanese flavors! Check out this spicy pasta dish using the Sichuanese Dan Dan sauce inspired by pasta carbonara! It's so creamy and delicious!


  • Pasta (I’m using Strozzapreti from Semolina Artisanal Pasta)
  • Dan Dan Sauce 2~3 tablespoons
  • Heavy Cream ⅓ cup
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 5 cloves of garlic, minced
  • salt
  • Parsley, finely chopped
  • parmesan cheese


  • Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente
  • In a pan on medium heat, sweat garlic in olive oil
  • Toss in cooked pasta, then add a ladle of pasta cooking water
  • Add heavy cream
  • Add Dan Dan Sauce
  • Stir until sauce coats pasta evenly, then add salt to taste
  • Turn the heat off, then immediately add egg yolk to pasta, stir and mix well
  • Add a generous amount of grated parmesan, stir, mix, and plate
  • Grate more parmesan on the plated pasta, then add chopped parley.
  • Enjoy!
